Blue Pearmain

Unknown parentage, said to be the parent of Rolfe. Large, dark purplish red fruit with large dots and covered with dull bluish bloom. True Pearmain flavor; mild, aromatic and sweet. Will keep all winter. Ripens in early October. Hardy to –50F. Originated in England in 1700’s. Grown throughout much of Maine for over 200 years. Introduced in 1833. Scions were given to us by Leslie Pierpont of Lamy, New Mexico.
