Hidden Rose Apple

Medium to large apple, broadly egg-shaped. Green skin becomes a beautiful pinkish yellow with pale whitish dots and often with a reddish cheek. The flesh is deep rose red, crisp, juicy, sugary and richly flavored. Ripens in late October or early November and remains hard and crisp all winter. Horticulturist Louis Kimsey rediscovered it at a cider mill in Oregon.
