Cox’s Orange Pippin x Jonathan varieties. Fruit is brick red over a yellow-green ground color. Flavorful. Excellent winter keeper. Flavor improves in storage. Growth habit is spreading and vigorous. May be flower tender. Triploid. Requires a pollinator. Apple scab susceptible. Does best in areas with cooler summers. Ripens in September. Zone 6-9. Originated in the Netherlands in 1949.
