Large, pale yellow fruit with bright red cheeks. Softer, juicier flesh has the advantage of being less prone to cracking in wet weather. Rich, tangy flavor. Good table variety. Trees are noted for their vigor and productivity. Ripens early. Hardy in Zones 5-8. Introduced in 1842.
