Rosa Rugosa
4'-6' high and wide. Zone 2-7. Sturdy shrub with stout upright stems filling the ground and forming a dense mat. Fast growth rate, lustrous deep green leaves in summer, brilliant fall color and bright red 1" hips. Good wildlife habitat plant. Flowers rose purple to white, 2-1/2"-3" across. Fragrant, blooms June through August. Easy to grow, Ph adaptable. One of the most trouble free roses. Valuable plant for difficult sites. Native to Northern China, Korea and Japan. Introduced in 1845.
