Wax Currant

Ribes Cereum
2'-6', Zone 4. Upright much branched shrub. Twigs and branches unarmed. Flowers waxy, light pink in May-June. Fragrant leaves. Berries ripen July to August, bright red, to yellowish red, ¼” dia., glandular or smooth. Twigs tan to reddish brown, eventually light to dark gray. Good for dry sunny sites. Fruit valuable for wildlife.
