Tolman Sweet

Round, medium to large fruit. Pale yellow skin, sometimes a little flushed with russet lines and often marked with a slightly rough suture line running from top to bottom. Firm, rather hard, moderately fine white flesh. Excellent sweet flavor. Highly esteemed for baking, stewing and making cider. Large, hardy, healthy, productive long lived tree. Bears early and reliably almost anywhere, blooms late, moderately biennial. Ripens during October, hardy to –50F. Developed in Massachusetts, described in 1822.
