Satsuma Plum

Japanese plum. Medium to large, nearly round, dark red fruit with a small pit. Firm, meaty, juicy flesh, red to the pit. Sweet, lively flavor. Excellent for fresh eating, cooking, canning or preserves. Upright tree is partially self-fruitful. Pollinate for improved production with another Japanese variety. Ripens in July, depending on location. Zones 4-9. Developed by Luther Burbank in 1899.
