Aronia melanocarpa
Zones 3-8.White flowers followed by large clusters of black fruit the size of blueberries. Astringent berry, high in vitamin C and antioxidants, used in juice and juice blends. Shrub grows 4-6 feet tall with brilliant red fall color. Widely adapted; sun or shade. Tolerates almost any soil and moisture conditions. Native to eastern US.
