Bulmer’s Norman Apple

Hard cider variety. Green-yellow fruit. Sweet astringent juice quickly ferments to a mild bittersweet cider with a hard, bitter tannin. Large spreading tree. Blooms early. Biennial bearing tendency. Triploid. Scab susceptible. Ripens mid October. Hardy to minus 40 F. without serious injury. Originated in Normandy, France and then England in the early 1900s.
