Garnet Beauty Peach

Bud mutation of Red Haven. Medium to large, slightly elongated, almost fuzzless, red fruit, similar to its parent. Firm, yellow, semifreestone flesh streaked with red. Smooth, fine texture. Resistant to split pits, which commonly occurs in early varieties. Excellent for pies, cobblers and preserves. Also good for canning and freezing. Vigorous, productive tree. Ripens 30-32 days before Elberta; 8-10 days before Red Haven. Requires 850 hours of chilling. Quite bud hardy. Discovered in the Garnet Bruner Orchard in Ontario. Introduced in 1958.
