Waneta Plum
Terry x Apple Plum. Largest of all hybrid plums. Yellow skin washed with dark red. Small pit. Juicy, deep yellow, clingstone flesh. Good quality. Fine for fresh use and processing. Highly fertile tree bears at an early age. Heavy, annual producer. Requires cross pollinator. Ripens from late August to early September. Hardy to –50 degrees F. One of the best for severe winter areas. Developed by Dr. N. E. Hansen at the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station. Introduced in 1913.
