Also called Honey pear or Sugar pear. A connoisseur’s delight. Small yellowish brown fruit with pale russet and russet red cheek. Fine grained, smooth, extremely sweet, very juicy flesh. Excellent for fresh eating and baking. Distinctive, spicy, rich, aromatic flavor, mostly in the skin. Productive, slow growing, naturally semi-dwarf, 15’ tree. Widely adaptable, reliable and heavy setting. Self fertile, fire blight resistant, introduced from Europe in 1790. Zone 4.
